Mark Frost and David Nuttall met at Manchester Business School in 1988. Having previously worked as chemical engineers in the energy and gas sectors, in 1993 they formed ColorMatrix in the UK, along with another colleague from MBS. Partnering with two US colleagues, they built ColorMatrix into a global company employing more than 500 employees, across twelve locations around the world.

Having sold to a Venture Capital company in 2006, they reinvested and delivered on the business plan they had sold. The VC sold the business with them for a second time in 2011. Since then, through FN Solutions, Mark and David have invested in innovative and sustainable based start-up businesses and projects largely in the Food, Energy and Health sectors.
